Prior to Dre's musical tribute Jennifer Hudson opened the night with a performance of “For All We Know." Common, meanwhile, performed a spoken word piece referencing Bryant (“You see, he used his game to touch the world’s soul/A king named Kobe Bryant, who wore purple and gold”), before introducing the teams.
Chance The Rapper performed the half-time show on Sunday, bringing Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, and Quavo to the stage with him.
Kobe Bryant died on January 26 after a helicopter he was riding in crashed near his home in Calabasas. Nine people in total died in the crash.
