David Roback, the producer and multi-instrumentalist of influential 90s group Mazzy Star, has passed away.

David Roback, the producer, multi-instrumentalist, and co-founder of iconic and influential 90s shoegaze duo Mazzy Star, was found dead on Monday at the age of 61. A representative of the band confirmed the news to Rolling Stone, but declined to reveal a cause of death. Mazzy Star, comprised of Roback and Hope Sandoval, broke out with in the 1990s with their hit “Fade into You,” and their records She Hangs Brightly, So Tonight That I Might See, and Among My Swan. After a retreat from the public spotlight, the band returned in 2013 with their record Seasons of Your Day.
