OK. There's a lot going on in the world right now but three super famous people have decided to pull focus for a while so here goes. Remember the feud between Taylor Swift and the Kardashian-Wests? Well, in the past few days a new video clip of a 2016 conversation between Taylor Swift and Kanye about his song “Famous” was leaked online. The leaked call, which goes on for 25 minutes, appeared to verify Swift's original claims that she was never asked about being referred to as a "bitch" by the rapper.

Swift has not commented on the leak but that didn't stop Kim Kardashian from implying that the pop star had "reignited" the beef in a series of tweets posted on Monday night. Kardashian couched her comments with the knowledge that a time of global pandemic is not ideal timing for a celebrity fallout, tagging Swift and writing "at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now."

Kardashian went on to add: “I didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying.

"To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that 'Kanye never called to ask for permission...' They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word 'bitch' was used without her permission.”

Tree Paine, Swift's publicist, then took to Twitter to stand up for her client. “I’m Taylor’s publicist and this is my UNEDITED original statement. Btw, when you take parts out, that’s editing,” she wrote. “P.S. who did you guys piss off to leak that video?” complete with three laughing emojis.

The “unedited” message reads, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’"

That's as much as anyone knows right now but, history would suggest, this one will run and run.
