Watch the lush video for TATYANA’s debut video “Wild Card”

An ode to a non-existent lover.

April 14, 2020

Classically trained harpist TATYANA had lived in Holland, Russia, Singapore, and Boston before moving back to her hometown of London and changing the course of her musical career forever. At an underground rave in the city in 2018, she decided that she wanted her music to be a part of the community she could see around her, meaning that she'd have to radically shift away from the classical music that had defined her in the past. Her debut single "Wild Card," a lushly produced pop single premiering above, completes that change of direction.

“I wrote this song about an imaginary Russian lover I never had," TATYANA said in a press release. "There’s a place in the Russian countryside I used to go to as a kid with a beautiful river and a tiny village. I imagined what it might be like to grow up in a place like that and wanting to break free and go see the rest of the distant, outside world. It’s about first love and believing it will go on forever because you’re bonded by your dreams and your memories.”
