When she graced the cover of our summer issue in 2018, Rico Nasty was already one of the more exciting artists on the rise from her hometown DMV region, as well as the wider rap landscape in general. Since then, her ascension has persisted in a number of ways. In late 2018, she was the star of a short documentary we produced titled Countin' Up, which followed her on a national tour and focused in on her life as a young mom. Last year, she was selected as a XXL Freshman. And just as recent as today, she announced that she'll be featured on the soundtrack of a new, animated Scooby Do movie. We truly love to see the Maryland artist break down barriers every step of the way, but who isn't a sucker for some good nostalgia?
Today, The FADER is unveiling a new feature in which we will revisit cover stories from the past and let our readers take on the task of putting them back together again. It's never a bad time to give your brain some stimulation, which is holds true more than ever now as we're still in quarantine. Give our Rico cover puzzle a try below.
