Kim Tee is the recording alias of Minneapolis-based musician and producer Hayley Briasco. For the past two years, she's been working closely with Clairo, co-producing "I Wouldn’t Ask You" from 2019's Immunity and handling the tour's music direction. Today she's sharing her debut single "Too Deep" and its music video.

"Too Deep" is bedroom pop for the "lo-fi chill beats to study to" generation, and its music video is suitably indoorsy. Jake Nokovic sets the camera spinning in a slow 360 motion and captures the many different ways to live in a single space. Watch above, and read Kim Tee's statement on "Too Deep" below.

This song is basically about feeling stuck in a relationship. One day you’re happy, the next you’re not so sure. One day you feel like it can work, the next you want to end things.

Production-wise this song is based off of a more stripped down demo that my good friends Naél and doux made.

The video was super cool to make. The director, Jake Nokovic, had the idea of the 360 camera with multiple shots layered on top of each other to make it feel never-ending. It was actually shot a year and a half ago, but it really holds true to the “quarantine” vibe that we get from 2020.

It really encapsulates the feeling of purposeful distraction. Doing everything in your power to distract yourself from doing the thing you probably should be doing.
