We all know the score by now. Everything is closed or, if its open, you're advised to stay away. Keep indoors at all costs and avoid anyone and everyone. It's the tough but understandable way we're all going to get through this. That isn't to say that some things won't make the process tougher though. Specifically, as you can imagine, that has been in anything depicting the way we used to live. Not radically different to now, but just so much more free.

Case in point; Fred Again..'s "Julia (Deep Diving)" video. British producer Fred has a fascinating way of building his music, regularly sampling real life audio as the basis for his euphoric blend of house and pop. Armed with just a laptop and a curious ear, he has sampled FaceTime conversations, YouTube clips, and more in the past year and today he drops a song built around an Instagram post by singer-songwriter Julia Michaels. She says "I might be broke" but "I fucking love it" on the song, with Fred using her words and scuplting something euphoric around them.

The accompanying video, premiering above, offers a BTS on Fred's process. Running around London with his computer he is shown making music without restriction. Whether he's riding the overground, grabbing a greasy breakfast, or celebrating with friends at a rooftop party, he's able to create on a whim. This personal and playful approach comes through in each and every one of his productions.

Speaking to The FADER about "Julia (Deep Diving)" he told The FADER: "The most beautiful thing about this sample to me is just the tone of Julia’s speaking voice. It’s so heartbreakingly fragile but kinda playful at the same time. Like her voice literally sounds like the fizzy excitement of first falling in love. I’m so grateful to her for letting me build a whole new thing out of it.”
