This Friday, avant-pop experimentalists Henriette Motzfeldt and Catharina Stoltenberg will release Believer, their long-anticipated debut album as Smerz. The Norwegian duo will coronate its arrival with a livestreamed performance on their Bandcamp on March 20, which promises "a journey from Rome to Oslo, from the baroque through modernism, the early 2000s and into the future." Ahead of all that, though, they're sharing a captivating new track from the album called "Flashing."

In a press release, Motzfeldt and Stoltenberg wrote that "'Flashing' is about losing the feeling about being a team in a relationship.” Sonically that plays out like a cavernous melodrama, with synths roving forth into a boundless horizon. Watch a visualizer for the track below. Believer is out February 26 via XL.
