Drake may have revealed the release date for his new album Certified Lover Boy with a brief video teaser during ESPN's SportsCenter. In the clip, spotted by Pitchfork, an unseen figure holds up a sign reading CLB September 3. A representative for Drake told Rolling Stone that the clip can be taken "at face value" without confirming that the album will actually be released next week.

Certified Lover Boy was first announced in August 2020 along with the release of the video for "Laugh Now, Cry Later" featuring Lil Durk. It was initially planned for release in January 2021, but was delayed after Drake suffered a leg injury. Instead, Drake shared the three-track EP Scary Hours II.

More recently, Drake has stuck with features. He's appeared on Brent Faiyaz's "Wasting Time," Nicki Minaj's "Seeing Green," "Betrayal" by Trippie Redd, and "Over the Top" from Toronto rapper Smiley.
