New York City's Junglepussy is frank in a way few rappers can pull off. She's never a blunt instrument when she's talking about sex, mental health, the unpleasantness of being around most people, or anything else, but you'll always come away from her music feeling like you've heard nothing else than someone's unfiltered reality. This Friday, Junglepussy will release JP5000, a five-track release and her fifth project so far. With that announcement comes the project's first single, "Critiqua."
As the name suggests, "Critiqua" deals with critics and naysayers. The song's instrumental is vintage yet shiny like polished brass, underscoring Junglepussy's effort to cast herself as a classic unconcerned with gossip. Her flow may be classic New York, but in the music video, Junglepussy dons a lot of stylish and contemporary outfits. Watch below.
