Jade Lilitri made a splash in 2019 with basking in the glow, his third and most-acclaimed release as Oso Oso. The project's emo-tinged indie rock swelled hearts around the world before retreating for a few years. On Wednesday, Oso Oso made its long-awaited return with "pensacola," a new song and accompanying music video.

The track finds Lilitri leaning on a gently groovy bassline as he weaves Shins-esque melodies around lyrics steeped in deep longing. In a press release viewed by PItchfork, Lilitri said the song follows a person “with so many DUIs, he can’t even drive the 79 miles to where his lover lives.” Sounds dark, right? The music video is a bit more cheerful, a public access-meets sitcom fever dream starring Lilitri. Check it out above.
