Kanye West's recent flurry of since-deleted Instagram posts targeting his estranged wife Kim Kardashian caused her "emotional distress," Kardashian claimed in court documents reported by TMZ. The filing reportedly asks the judge to finalize her divorce from West, first reported in February 2021.

"Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress," Kardashian reportedly claims in the documents. West received significant attention and backlash for posts shared this year, which have included accusing Kardashian of preventing him from seeing their children, criticizing her for allowing their daughter North to use TikTok, and claiming Kardashian had accused West of trying to assassinate her. West has also frequently targeted Pete Davidson, Kardashian's boyfriend.

West's lawyers, the filing claims, have not been able to fully communicate with the artist for unspecified reasons. "But as you also know," they reportedly wrote to Kardashian's attorneys in October 2021, "we face challenges in communicating with our client -- and the validity of the prenup (with all of its related legal implications) is a heavy issue to broach."

Kardashian wishes to end the marriage and become single once more in order to begin the "healing process" for herself and her children, the filing reportedly says. "While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realization that there is no way to repair our marriage. Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realization that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not."

The FADER has reached out to Kanye West's representative for more information.
