As a producer and member of London collective NiNE8, Mac Wetha has proven himself to be a versatile collaborator with credits on tracks from Biig Piig, Lava La Rue, and Aminé. As a solo artist, however, his works leans on the scuzzier and more punk aesthetic and has seen him tour with both beabadoobee and Deb Never. Today he shares "Dani Song," an honest reflection of an evolving relationship and his most anthemic moment to date. The song will appear on upcoming EP Cloud Paint, due this summer via Dirty Hit, and comes with a video that's equal parts Skins and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Check it out above.

The relationship Mac sings about in "Dani Song" sounds pretty idyllic. "When we're together," he says at one point. "I'm illuminated by your presence." All is not as it seems though as he soon finds that being one half of something means no longer being as steady on his own two feet as he once was. These confused feelings, both in love and unsure at the same time, are captured in a track that skips between sounds at will; "Dani Song" has verses that skitter over breakbeats before launching into a big rock chorus that could fill arenas. It captures the sense of trying, and failing, to keep feelings in check nicely.

Speaking about the video, Mac told The FADER: "Since ‘Dani Song’ is such a personal song to me, I wanted to make a video with people who I’m close with. It was directed by my partner Daniela (Monteiro) and my buddy Tommy (Davis). Also the band you see in the video are all friends I grew up playing music with, blessed to have them involved and present; it’s a family affair.

"We referenced Emerica’s Stay Gold, one of my favourite skate videos ever, and '90s pop punk visuals. I wanted to bring these kinds of aesthetics which heavily influence my music, to life visually! As well into a more modern world."
