DJ Tim Westwood has stepped down from his weekly radio show on U.K. station Capital Xtra. The move comes the day after an extensive investigation into the DJ was published in which seven women accused him of sexual misconduct. BBC News reports that Global, the parent company of Capital Xtra confirmed the news on Wednesday with Westwoood stood down "until further notice."
"Following the claims that have recently come to light, Tim Westwood has stepped down from his show until further notice," Global's statement reads.
In total Westwood is accused of predatory sexual behavior by three women and either groping or innapropriately touching four others. The earliest alleged incident took place in 1992; the most recent in 2017. All of the women who have spoken out are Black and ranaged in age from 17 to 22 at the time of the alleged incidents.
Westwood denies all of the allegations made against him. A spokesperson responding to the investigation said that “Any suggestion that he acts, or has acted, in the way described would be false and seriously defamatory.”
