Omega Sapien
Hong Chanhee
The list of artists who have written songs about their dogs ranges from the sublime (The Beatles, Snoop, err Sublime) to the ridiculous (Baha Men). Today avant-garde and boundary pushing K-pop star Omega Sapien joins their ranks. His song "Jenny," premiering below, is an elastic and bouncy ode to man's best friend, a warped stereo knocker that mixes big drums and bubbling synths into something warm and loving. Jenny even makes a cameo appearance in the video, with Omega Sapien declaring her his "only Cupid" shortly before headbanging his way through his local convenience store. The video was directed by Hong Chanhee, Omega Sapien's fellow Balming Tiger member, and does a good job of underlining the light-hearted nature of the song.
The Baauer-produced "Jenny" will appear on Omega Sapien's upcoming EP Wuga, due May 25 via LuckyMe. It follows "DDOKBOKKI" and Sega Bodega collaboration "Plum." Omega Sapien will be joining Balming Tiger on their first UK/EU tour this May. See below for dates.
