Death Cab For Cutie stare existential dread in the face on new song “Roman Candles”

The band has announced its 10th album Asphalt Meadows and Fall tour dates.

Death Cab for Cutie have shared details of their tenth studio album and details of a North American tour. The John Congleton-produced Asphalt Meadows will be released on September 16. Check out lead single "Roman Candles" below.

"‘Roman Candles" is about the crippling, existential dread that goes hand in hand with living in a nervous city on a dying planet. And that the only way to be in the moment is to let it all go" Benjamin Gibbard said in a statement. "The lyrics were cobbled from a couple of different songs dealing with my general sense of anxiety; the feeling that the fabric that weaves a functioning society together was crumbling during the pandemic."
