Later this month Freddie Gibbs will release new album $oul $old $eparately. He has already previewed the album via Moneybagg Yo collaboration "Too Much" as well as freestyling over an Amerie beat for Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97. Today he drops off "Dark Hearted" with an assist from James Blake on production.

$oul $old $eparately will be released on September 30 and Gibbs is in a confident mood. Speaking to Flex during that same freestyle appearance he said he's "coming for album of the year. That's the mode every time I drop an album." The stacked tracklist would back that idea up, featuring appearances from Pusha T, Offset, Raekwon, Anderson .Paak, Musiq Soulchild, DJ Paul, Rick Ross, and Kelly Price.

The record will be Gibbs’ fifth solo studio LP — not to mention two joint full-lengths a piece with Madlib and The Alchemist, and over two dozen mixtapes and EPs — but only the first he’ll be releasing with a major label, Warner Records. (He’s put all of his previous solo projects out himself — either independently or on his own label, ESGN, distributed via EMPIRE.)
