Beloved auteur Jim Jarmusch has joined forces once again with Carter Logan for the debut full-length album from their experimental guitar duo SQÜRL. Silver Haze comes out May 5, and today you can watch the music video for the new track "Berlin '87."

The title suggests a connection to the pre-unification German capital, and sure enough, Jarmush was inspired by his memories of living in the city while writing the guitar for the song. The result, a slurry of post-rock and drone, is something that you could imagine playing in your head as you walk through a historic setting with an uncertain future.

Jem Cohen directs the song's music video, streaming below. “Roaming Central and Eastern Europe soon after the fall of the Berlin Wall, backpack crammed with Super 8 cameras," Cohen says in a statement, "I was deeply moved by the landscape. I couldn’t have guessed some of the footage would surface over a quarter-century later in a film for Jim and Carter’s band. They work hard to forge their expansive sound, with its indomitable beat and secret harmonics. Glad I had that backpack, and to be of service.”
