Alaska Reid is gearing up to release her debut album Disenchanter in a couple of months. The A.G. Cook-produced record drops on July 14 and Reid has already shared "Back To This" and "She Wonders" from the album. Today brings "Palomino," which showcases Reid's ability to marry an addictive pop hook to a devastating lyric. Written from the perspective of her mother, Reid sings "I’m feeding some kind of demon, Hoping that my heart will start beating," over a sparse drum kick and crunchy guitars.

"My mom lived for a while in Los Angeles in the 80s and worked at a club called the Palomino in North Hollywood," Reid says in a statement. "She told me and my sisters all these crazy stories from those days. I wrote this song imagining I was her, working at a club like that.”

In addition to sharing "Palomino," Reid has also announced details of an upcoming headline tour. She will start with a hometown show in Los Angeles on September 6 before hitting San Francisco, Texas, Chicago, Brooklyn, Washington, and Boston before a one-off U.K. date in London on September 18.
