illuminati hotties hit the road with “Truck”

It’s been a few years since we heard new illuminati hotties music, but Sarah Tudzin has kept plenty busy in the meantime. The celebrated mixer and engineer co-produced the new boygenius album (you might’ve heard of them), and worked on Perfect Saviors, the upcoming full-length by recent FADER cover stars The Armed. With a follow-up to Let Me Do One More “due imminently,” per a press release, she’s shared “Truck” to ring in this new era and a run of tour dates that will carry through the rest of the summer.

“Truck” is a low-key jam — a far cry from pop-punk rippers like “MMMOOOAAAAAYAYA“ and “Pool Hopping“ — though it still would’ve slotted in nicely alongside LMDOM‘s mellower album tracks. A refrain of “Heaven is a truck” instantly recalls Pavement‘s “Range Life,” but of course this is illuminati hotties, so the whole song is meticulously engineered: each instrument shimmers with the orange blush of a sunny day viewed through closed eyes.
