Over the past few years Manchester-based producer Florentino has been working towards a singular sound. Inspired equally by his U.K. rave upbringing and the salsa and cumbia sounds from his Colombian heritage, Florentino has filtered these disparate worlds into a stream of childhood memories and speaker-rattling bass. Florentino's influences aren't as easily identifiable as you might think of such a fusion, he's not sampling trumpet players from Bogotá and sticking it over a techno beat, there's a subtlety at play that makes things feel more personal.

That said, "subtle" is not a word that springs to mind when listening to "Pressure," Florentino's new collaboration with Shygirl. The pair, staples of the U.K. dance underground, combine to create a dark atmosphere befitting the grimy clubs they came of age in while also bringing in a sense of lust across the dancefloor. Florentino pummels his drums like a punching bag while throwing out airhorns between the relentless uppercuts. Shygirl finds herself at the center of this, bringing hot bodies and a rising temperature to proceedings. Together they crush all in front of them, pushing down harder and harder with each passing moment.

"Pressure" will feature alongside last year's "Constrictor" on Florentino's new EP Kilometro Quinze, due on October 20. Check it out below.
