The Hives have revealed a unique way to combat a busy tour schedule. The indie rock band, with tongue firmly in cheek, have outlined plans to franchise themselves and allow cover bands to perform as The Hives in 2024.

"We have arrived at a point where the Hives can no longer keep up with public demand for concerts," the band wrote in a statement. It continues, "This is where you come in. Help us create a world where the Hives are playing in every city, all the time. Let’s make business together and rock’n’roll."

"Imagine a world where The Hives are playing every city all the time," the band adds. The need for potentially hundreds of Hives makes sense. The band spent the summer supporting Arctic Monkeys and playing their own headline shows in support of this year’s The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, their first album in 11 years. Next year they will open for Green Day and Foo Fighters on their respective 2024 tours.

Terms of the franchise opportunity will be made available to those who apply. Sharp suits and a hatred of saying I told you so are, presumably, a minimum requirement.
