Big Thief's Adrianne Lenker has announced details of a new solo album. Bright Future will be released on March 22 via 4AD and includes the single "Sadness As A Gift." Scroll down to listen to that song now.

Bright Future is Lenker’s first album since 2020’s songs & instrumentals, and features co-production from Philip Weinrobe, plus contributions from Nick Hakim, Mat Davidson, and violinist Josefin Runsteen. The album includes the previously released "Ruined" plus the original recording of "Vampire Empire," released as a Big Thief single in 2023.

In press materials accompanying the album announcement, Lenker reflected on the recording process, stating: "No one stopped a take. We didn’t listen back. I only listened after everybody else left." Adding, "It was magical."

In addition to the new music and album details, Lenker has also confirmed details of a 2024 North American tour. She will play solo shows in support of Bright Future in November, starting Northampton, Massachusetts on the 11th and running through until the tour wraps with two nights at Philadelphia's Union Transfer on November 25-26.
