Watch a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI
Rockstar Games offers a closer look at the highly-anticipated game, due out May 26, 2026.
Last week it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI, the latest instalment in Rockstar Games' hugely popular ultraviolent action series, would be delayed from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. That may have disappointed fans who've been waiting over a decade for the sequel, but a new trailer suggests that Rockstar haven't been sitting around twiddling their thumbs this whole time.
The new trailer gives us more insight into Jason and Lucia, the protagonists of the new game. Their lives in Vice City – The GTA universe's version of Miami – are soundtracked by The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together" as they heist, dodge cops, and interact with colorful locals. That song is a good indication for the in-game radio stations, which have helped make the game such a cultural tentpole; here are our picks for musicians who should DJ their own shows in Grand Theft Auto VI.
In a statement released last week, Rockstar Games said delaying the game was necessary to give fans an experience worthy of the franchise. "With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve."
