Today, gritty pop princess Slayyyter announces her third full length album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA out March 27 via RECORDS / Columbia Records. The highly-anticipated project is her major label debut.
The announcement comes after a strong run of singles where the St. Louis-born, New York City-based singer trades in the sleek Hollywood glamor of 2023's STARFUCKER for a grimier palette of camo, PBR's, fuzzed out guitars, and delirious drums. The new era is a nod to her Midwest roots and the music she grew up listening to on her iPod, a mix of pop, punk, and rap.
Lead single "BEAT UP CHANEL$" toggles between recession pop euphoria and bleary techno, while follow-up singles "CANNIBALISM!" and "CRANK" showcase Slayyyter at her most hard-edged and foreboding.
She's also shared the album's artwork, which fittingly features tattered denim, a trucker hat and boasts a very Slayyyyter cinematic quality.
Slayyyter will release a new single "DANCE..." on Friday, January 16th. Teasers suggest the new song will continue in the vein of previous singles, blending high octane pop with sharp-toothed distortion.
