American Football are back.
The Midwest Emo legends announced that they are releasing their first LP since 2019, American Football (LP3). Details are scant for now, but the band shared the new record, LP4 will be released on May 1 via Polyvinyl.
The band initially formed as a humble University of Illinois rock group. They released their first album in 1999 to little fanfare. Over the following years, American Football steadily became a cult favorite via growing online buzz across early message boards and file sharing platforms. They finally reunited in 2014, and since, have released two more full length LPs, a live album and a memorable album of covers, which featured artists like Ethel Cain, Blondeshell, and Iron & Wine.
