underscores has shared a dubstep-inflected smash, "Tell Me (U Want It)" alongside further details about her forthcoming album, U (out March 20).

She also shared a new, self-directed music video for "Tell Me (U Want It)," that is a quasi-caper, shot in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. Fellow new gen super producer and artist Jane Remover also makes an appearance in it.

underscores had previously released prior singles from the project — "Music" and "Do It" — both of which explored a poppier direction for the stylistically versatile artist.

Whereas previous projects like 2023's Wallsocket and 2021's boneyard aka fearmonger and fishmonger all dabbled in a mix of rock, pop and experimental electronics, these three U singles reflect an artist who's looking to apply her dexterous skillet to a purer pop canvas.

The further turn towards pop is reflective of her recent remixes as well. Recent Gen F alum and EDM savant Ninajirachi and Australian pop performer daine remixed "It's You" and K-pop star Yves lent a bubbly guest verse to "Do It (Yves Remix)."

In an Instagram story posted on February 27, underscores shared that the new album will be 9 songs, 34 minutes long, and have 0 features.
