Rochelle Jordan has been lighting up dance floors and aux cords for over a decade. The British-Jamaican alt-R&B diva and house chanteuse has long been a cult favorite and a steady collaborator of dance music heavyweights like KAYTRANADA. But her newest album, 2025's Through The Wall (FADER's #2 album of the year), has leveled her up from an IYKYK popstar to a true phenom. Now she's The FADER latest cover star, summoning the spirit of Donna on her big front page look.

The FADER compiled a guide to Rochelle Jordan's best songs from a long career that's ironically just getting started.

"Ladida"

The simmering hit off of Rochelle's latest, Through The Wall. This uptempo house cut bounces and slides, and shows off Rochelle's smooth-toned raps, and soaring vocals on the song's deliciously singsong chorus, "Ladida / Ladi-yeah."

"The Boy"

Another steamy, dance-ready cut from TTW. If a doctor could prescribe an antidote to disconnection, it would probably be this song.

"Bite The Bait"

A slinky half-time swirl and an ode to giving in to desire. Rochelle has become synonymous with bouncy BPM emotionality, but "Bite The Bait" shows that her disco ball still glistens when she slows things down.

"Lowkey"

Another romantic slow burn, this one off of Rochelle's initial breakout, 2014's 1021. 2010s hip hop drum production meets Janette-esque harmony stacks for a song that is best listened to beside candle light.

"DANCING ELEPHANTS"

A dangerously danceable track from Rochelle's 2021 album, Play With The Changes. The synth stabs and percussively dense drum production give the beat a jumpy joy that pairs perfectly with Rochelle's confessional and melodious vocals. It also features one of her most memorable lines: "Elephant in the room / But we're still dancing."

"Spit It Out" by KAYTRANADA feat. Rochelle Jordan

A list of Rochelle Jordan songs wouldn't be complete without mention of Canadian super-producer, KAYTANADA, who's been a frequent collaborator (and champion) of Rochelle's. "Spit It Out" off of KAYTRANADA's 2024 album, TIMELESS, shows off both artists' strengths, with KAYTRANADA's recognizable drum production and patchwork sample craftsmanship, and Rochelle's vocal timelessness.

"Lover/Friend" by KAYTRANADA and Rochelle Jordan

Another KAYTRA/Rochelle heater. This one thumps at the heavy rhythm of a breaking heart. The bass is buoyant, the drums knock and Rochelle's falsetto is as light as love can feel. Her lyrics. though, are filled with the evocative details and captivating storytelling.
