The Opener is The FADER’s short-form profile series of casual conversations with exciting new artists.

Six Sex wants you to lose your mind tonight. The Argentine princess of perreo-rave demands her listeners let go and shake ass; she'll even coach you through it. On last year’s revved up X-sex EP, her Spanglish dancefloor exploits were laced with pulsing synths and bratty demeanor, all gas, no brakes. Fusing the bass-heavy reggaeton of 2000s perreo with more contemporary electronics, neo-perreo artists like Tokischa and Isabella Lovestory have found real crossover appeal here in the states, and Six Sex seems poised for similar success with her upcoming American tour this spring.

Hailing from Buenos Aires, Six Sex's tracks revolve around the club and the carnal, and at a glance, her deliriously addictive music can seem as vapid as it is sweet. But don’t let these songs’ biological impulses fool you: there’s a winking irony threaded through the high-femme hedonist’s discography, which leverages the male gaze to campier ends. Take last September’s MCR-T collab “CLUBHOUSE,” where Six plays coy about the impact of her ultra-mini skirts, or woozy Dillom duet “Tócame,” where the Argentinians extol the virtues of rough play. Even at their most erotic, these songs are cunty first and titillating second.

Six Sex is currently preparing her debut album, and just released the first two singles from the project. “Not ur mom” is a riotous jam about getting the ick after splitting the tab (“Yo no soy tu mamá / Aunque me chupaste las tetas”). “Ultra Terrorific Fantasy” mixes abrasive gabber kicks with spacey synths and gnarly lowend: with its whiplash beat switches, it almost reminds me of a Travis Scott song, and comes with a ridiculously overstuffed music video to match.

The FADER caught up with Six Sex to chat about the movies she’s been watching lately, crying at a great hometown concert, and the photos she saves to her phone instead of memes.

Tell us about the first album you bought.
I didn’t buy them myself, but growing up my house was full of CDs from all kinds of music. My uncle listened to Argentinian groups such as Miranda and Babasonicos, and my grandparents listened to cumbia-star Gilda and a lot of cumbia albums.

What was the last movie you watched?
The last movie I watched that caught my attention was Ghost in the Shell. I found very interesting the animation technique they used between watercolor and 3D, the way it’s created, how the story is portrayed and basically all about it. I recommend it.

Worst advice you’ve gotten
Someone once told me I should change my artistic name because they felt it didn’t work in my favour. Fortunately, they apologized and regretted it afterwards.

Best advice you’ve gotten
My best friend once told me that I should think of myself as if I were my own daughter. And take care of myself like that.

Show us the last meme you saved to your phone.
I don’t really save memes in my phone. But every time I see one that I like, of course I share it with my friends. I love all videos related to Dashchunds. They remind me of Tanya, my daughter.

What’s the best thing you’ve bought for $100 or less?
Plants. A lot of plants for my house. Oh and also, a portable mini-hand-fan for my shows. That was a good investment.

Tell us about your favorite tattoo or accessory.
My favorite tattoos are the ones on my feet. And my favorite accessories are my rings.

Describe the best concert you’ve attended.
It was my friend’s Juana Rozas’ show in Niceto, a venue in Buenos Aires. I went through all emotions. I cried, I sang, I jumped. I really loved it.

What’s a song you’d want to remix and why?
Actually, I don’t know. The songs that I love the most, I want them to stay like that. No remix.

When you’re not making music, how do you spend your free time?
I usually like to be at home. I travel a lot so every time I can spend time there, I try to make the most of it.

What’s the coolest thing to do in your hometown?
I would definitely say partying. The night in Buenos Aires is really really fun.

What’s a motto you think everyone should live by?
It’s kind of an invented motto, but I think YOLOV would be it. It’s basically YOLO, combined with Love. I know it sounds kind of lame. But every time I need to wake up and go to the airport after having 1 hour sleep for another show… it’s YOLOV.

What’s the ideal level of fame?
I would say that the ideal level of fame for me would be that everyone knew my music and nobody knew my face.
