Ilykimchi and TiaCorine backstage at Rolling Loud 2026.
Taryn Segal / The FADER
TiaCorine and Ilykimchi are good friends with a couple collaborations under their belt. It’s not surprising the two get along: they both love rap music, Dorohedoro, and being “so cunt.”
With both artists on the lineup at Rolling Loud, The FADER simply had to get the dynamic duo together for a conversation. The pair had an easy rapport and chemistry, the obvious byproduct of texting each other all the time, and swapped first impressions, anime recs, and their favorite things about “Gas Station.”

Ilykimchi: You look so good!
TiaCorine: You look so good. Yesterday I was watching your set – bitch you ate that.
Ilykimchi: OMG I love you. Hi I’m Ilykimchi here with The FADER interviewing?
TiaCorine: Tiaaaaa.
Ilykimchi: Okay so you look really good. Can you tell me more about what you're wearing?
TiaCorine: This is a custom fit from this girl from Charlotte [that I bought] around Winston-Salem. I wanted to go very emo-kawaii, that’s what I was going for.
Ilykimchi: It's giving that. It's giving like, scene queen. And I love the ears [squeals]. Literally so cute.
The FADER: What were you guys' first impressions of each other?
TiaCorine: I was like, “Oh my God, she is the cutest little Asian baddy I've ever seen.” She’s just so cunt, like everything, and I was like, “Okay body is tea.”
And then the beats? We got together, I’m like, “Bro, she’s hard as fuck.” Like she’s harder than these dudes, what the fuck? She was quick as hell too. We cooked up and she was just cool.
Ilykimchi: Honestly I was kind of intimidated by you because you're so good at rapping. I was like, “oh my God, she's too good.” You’re rapping so fast on my beat and I was like, “oh my God, you're literally better than a lot of these men.” A lot of these men take hours and hours – not saying that that's bad, but anyways – that was my first impression. You were eating.
The FADER: Kimchi, what’s your favorite bar that Tia’s rapped on one of your beats?
TiaCorine: That’s so hard. It’s so many bro. What did I even say on that shit? I don't even remember my boss.
Ilykimchi: I like ‘Gas Station.’ That's my favorite song that we made together.
TiaCorine: That whole hook I would say probably is your favorite. You were like, hold on. I was so scared, I was like, “I gotta impress her real quick. I gotta rizz her up.
Ilykimchi: I was impressed.

The FADER: Could you guys recommend each other an anime to watch?
TiaCorine: I would recommend Dorohedoro, Have you watched that yet?
Ilykimchi: Yesss, I love it.
TiaCorine: OK there’s a new season out, have you watched it yet?
Ilykimchi: No, I haven't watched the new season. I like his little pet hamster with the pigtails.
TiaCorine: Yesss, I cosplayed that!
Ilykimchi: Wait really?
TiaCorine: Yes, I cosplayed Nikaido.
Ilykimchi: Oh my God cuuuute! Have you watched Dan to Dan?
TiaCorine: Yes I have. I'm not caught up though.
Ilykimchi: Have you watched Mob Psycho? That's like one of my favorites. You should watch it.
TiaCorine: I'm gonna watch it when I get home.
The FADER: Who do you think would win in a fight?
TiaCorine: Between me and her?! Oh my God!
Ilykimchi: Why would you ask that? I feel like you would win though, honestly.
TiaCorine: I didn't want to say it, but no, I'm just kidding. We're not gonna fight.
Ilykimchi: I'm not gonna fight.
TiaCorine: I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding. We're too bad. We’d think we're gonna fight and be like, “actually, you're so tea. Let's go get a drink.”
Ilykimchi: Like it wouldn't get to that point, but if it did, she would probably win. I'd be fighting for survival.
TiaCorine: Yeah, no, violence is not the answer.
Ilykimchi: Yeah, don't fight kids. Would you rather get canceled for being mean or for being corny?
TiaCorine: for being mean.
Ilykimchi: Me too.
TiaCorine: Being corny? Hell no.
Ilykimchi: Fuck no.
TiaCorine: I would rather die.
