Perfectly Imperfect and Back Market threw a party for old tech
And everyone was dressed straight out of 2000.

You can find a party for just about anything in New York City. Celebrity lookalikes, indie sleaze, Tumblr. On Saturday, May 16, Perfectly Imperfect, Tyler Bainbridge's viral recommendations newsletter turned buzzy social media platform, threw a party for something wholly singular: your old sticker-covered laptop.
In a moment that spoke to both tech nostalgia and sustainability, Perfectly Imperfect partnered with second-hand tech marketplace Back Market to host Ugly Pretty, a party for flawed electronics that deserve a second chance. The event coincided with Back Market's latest campaign around old MacBooks with leftover sticker marks on them. Hosted by turtlewithhat, attendees flocked to the buzzy listening bar Silence Please to get free tattoos, revisit old tech relics (like the original Gameboy!), and collect stickers to decorate their own laptops. Plus, they heard some cool tunes from DJ Thank You, nation, and velvette blue.
