Carly Rae Jepsen is back with her first new, full-length album since 2022's The Loneliest Time.
For the last week, Jepsen has been teasing her new era with cryptic photos of artifacts and objects, alongside locations and times and lines which may well be lyrics from the forthcoming record. Now it's confirmed that the mysterious roll out, with its focus on time and place, was indeed a thematic pre-amble to her new era.
Today, Jepsen shares that the new album will be a 24-track double album with 12 songs for day and 12 songs for night. Per a press release, the album's day side is teased as highlighting "live instrumentation and hints of 70s-inspired psychedelic pop," whereas its "night side" will center around the "sleek, synth-driven world of dance pop."

When will Day and Night be released?
Day and Night is set to be released on September 18. Its first single, "On Wires," will be released this Friday, June 26.
What is Day and Night's album art?
Alongside the album announcement, Jepsen has shared the cover art for her new album. It shows Jepsen looking up towards an unknown vantage while resting on a table. Its blend of light and shadows reflects the album's theme of duality and time.
Who worked on Day and Night?
Jepsen worked with fcollaborators and friends: longtime guitarist Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer (Rina Sawayama, Allie X), Nate Cyphert (Nessa Barrett, Fifth Harmony), and Cole M.G.N. (Beck, Dev Hynes, Anderson.Paak) on the project.
