ADOR/NewJeans
NewJeans is back?
Today, July 21, NewJeans posted a batch of new videos on their YouTube channel, all branded "2026 Summer of NewJeans," in the group's clearest signal yet that new music is coming.
The material arrives around the group's fourth anniversary and features Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein each with their own isolated video, and one with all four of them together. The videos see each member through an inconsequential yet pensive 2-minute slice of their day — Minji fills up her gas tank, Hyein gets an ice cream cone, and notably Hanni spends a moment on her laptop in a park on a bunny-branded DAW.
Each scene is filled with references to Bunnies, the group's fanbase, from rabbit motifs to stuffed animals and origami. The full group rollout closes the series of videos with a 59-second clip in which all four members reunite on camera, ending on a shot of what appears to be a large white rabbit in the grass.
Neither ADOR nor parent company HYBE has announced a release. Any new music would be NewJeans' first since their June 2024 EP Supernatural, which came out two years ago to the day.
The teasers also mark the group's first coordinated appearance since the end of a long contract dispute with HYBE, which Korean courts resolved in the label's favor. After the five members' attempts to rebrand themselves as NJZ as well as pursue solo projects, the Seoul High Court upheld a prior injunction barring them from independent ventures while under contract to ADOR. Haerin, Hyein, Hanni, and Minji returned to ADOR last year and ADOR terminated the contract of founding member Danielle. Read the FADER’s most recent coverage of the legal battle here.
Although exciting, the possible release of new music from the group raises concerns about the group's acquiescence to ADOR and if this new content is just the work of the mother company.
