Beyoncé feat. JÄY-Z, “Morning Dew (Donk)” remix

This very welcome remix of Beyoncé’s “Morning Dew (Donk)” give me hallucinations of “Drunk In Love.” On it, Jay and Bey trade giddy, filthy verses over a revamped beat that samples “Mo Bamba” and that insouciant guitar riff from The Isley Brothers’ “Between The Sheets.” It really is summer ’13 all over again. —Steffanee Wang

Jorja Smith’s been living in her club music bag, and Odeal just hopped in with her. The lyrics celebrate a toxic relationship, but the breezy production has me bumping along and completely forgetting to leave my own situationshipship, too. — Kylah Williams

kori feat. skaiwater, “atlanta”

Ohio rapper kori never hits the same register twice on her debut mixtape when I realized. Early tape standout “atlanta” mashes kori’s shoegaze-style vocals against skaiwater’s, which sound larger-than-life. The volume whiplash is sort of ridiculous, but their collaboration is so smooth I don’t even mind. — Vivian Medithi

Rachel Chinouriri, “One song away from crying”

Rachel Chinouriri looks and sounds her absolute best on this groovy, heartbroken track where she sings in a feathery falsetto whisper that sounds like she’s on the cusp of tears. By the end of the single, though, Rachel flips her sentiment around: “Turn those tears to dust (Get me out of here) / Turn those tears to dust.” — KW

deathtoricky, “lemon haze”

Irish cloud rapper deathtoricky kicks off his new EP pre life with this playfully serene track. The self-made 19-year-old brings hard-earned brags to this placid beat, and it just makes me happy to see a young Irish lad on the come-up. — Drew Neiman

June McDoom, “Without You”

This single off June McDoom’s forthcoming October album Follow The Light is lush and lilting. It merges Weyes Blood’s grandeur with the whimsy of Minnie Riperton, enveloping you in its wall of sound. — TH

I recently saw New York City trio For Opal play a hometown show at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and was captivated by their elegant songwriting and lead singer Sohvi Nwanokwale’s vocals that soar and sweep. “Fable” from their new EP HEAL is timeless and heartwrenching. — TH

kuru, “Thru the wire”

“Lost my voice after tour : (“ kuru wrote in the caption for this new SoundCloud loosie. Rapping over a MKYFM (MIKE, seventhirtyatmorning) beat that sounds like a whirlpool of synths, kuru sounds almost dejected but still totally assured. — VM
