KAROL G, Drake, “Ahí”

Drake was the perfect partner to help KAROL G absolutely devour this sleek, seductive reggaeton track with her lush vocals. He swoops in with his endearing attempt at Spanish which is catchy and cute. — Drew Neiman

Brent Faiyaz, “like it was”

Icon is the gift that keeps on giving. First the initial drop, then the bonus songs released, and now the director’s cut. Brent slides on this single in the 90’s-fine way he so often does, sampling Pretty Ricky’s “Make It Like It Was.” — Kylah Williams

The Avalanches feat. Portraits of Tracy, “Can’t Get Over Losing You”

FADER fav Portraits Of Tracy teaming up with storied Australian plunderphonics maestros The Avalanches feels like niche, music fan service. Their collab is a happy-sad shaker that has a delightful main character energy. — Tobias Hess

L'rain, “elmyra”

L’rain’s latest single “elmyra” off her forthcoming album fata morgana is both soft and kinetic, swirling around your head with ribbons of synth pads and bass, a chugging drum pattern, and L’rain’s heartfelt falsetto. — TH

ksuuvi, elibanss, “shake n bake”

This is the perfect deep-fried beat to blow out your car speakers before the end of summer. It feels like ksuuvi and elibanss were fighting the producer as they mixed it. — DN

CKay, “BADAMINTON”

CKay croons about a baddie over layers of synth. On the triumphant, hedonistic track, he's a sinner and a winner who's balancing the angel and devil on his shoulders. — KW

Lauren Juzang, “Smooth Talker”

LA singer Lauren Juzang’s charming new single “Smooth Talker” sounds like Mk.gee started producing bubbly coming-of-age pop in the vein of Sabrina Carpenter. I can’t get it out of my head (complimentarily). — TH

Ravyn Lenae, Doechii, “Babygirl”

This song feels like a letter to my younger self—and I’m sure for little Ravyn as well. Her “la la la’s” feel like putting one foot in front of the other in a world that’s tough for Black women trying to make it. Doechii hops on honest as hell, admitting to her insecurities and fears while rapping stronger than ever: “I want, I love, I give / I'm bad, I'm that girl, I'm a bitch.” — KW

Westside Cowboy, “Dobro”

UK indie rockers Westside Cowboy’s latest single “Dobro” has an epic nonchalance. They supported Geese on tour in the UK and they have a similar scraggly form of expression, but one that’s balanced by their tight, in-the-pocket unity. — TH
