Native Instruments released Maschine 3.7 today, a free update to its Maschine 3 beat-making software, alongside three new sound packs. One of them, Rage Circuit, was made with Grammy-winning producer Snipe Young and is built for rage and hypertrap.
The update adds three sequencing tools and a random note generator that writes notes based on odds the user sets. A Euclidean sequencer builds grooves from step, fill, and rotation settings, with a live mode that updates while the loop plays. A new chance setting gives each note a probability of playing, so a pattern changes on every pass until the producer locks in a take they like.
Rage Circuit is the largest of the three Expansions, with 41 kits and 291 loops built around distorted synths, heavy 808s, and aggressive drums. The other two packs are Paris Heat, which draws on the French house sound of the late '90s and 2000s with resonant filters and four-on-the-floor drums. Thirty marks Native Instruments' 30th anniversary by resampling its own catalog, pulling sounds from Reaktor, Massive X, and its Spotlight and Play series. All three Expansions also work in any DAW.
Maschine 3.7 is available now for all Maschine 3 users, with Maschine+ support coming soon. Rage Circuit and Paris Heat cost $49 each, and Thirty costs $30.
