With a sold-out European headline tour on the horizon, today, Tiffany Day collaborated with glaive on her new single “MEANT TO BE” accompanied by an official music video.
Injecting a sense of hopefulness into a frantic, digicore sound, Day solidifies her unique bass-boosted melancholia on the new track. The song blasts against a hazy, smoke-filled desert landscape that Day wanders through with glaive in the official music video, directed and shot by John Kim.
To pair with the release, Day shared exclusive photos from the making of “MEANT TO BE” with The FADER. See them below.
In a 180-degree shift from her bedroom-pop origins, singer, songwriter, DJ, producer and editor Day established herself as hyperpop’s biggest rising star of the year with the release of her studio album HALO in April. The project brings her indie-pop, melancholy voice to confetti-filled, disco-lit stages.
In an April interview, she shared her feelings on her new foray into hyperpop with The FADER. “I always wanted to belong to a niche and [electronic music] felt like it was calling to me, but it terrified me what [fans and musicians in this genre] would think of me and my music,” she said.
Day is currently on her North America headline tour with glaive. Tomorrow, they’ll be performing at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Oregon.
