Serato released Serato DJ for iOS, bringing the DJ software that has anchored club booths for more than two decades to iPhone and iPad. The app launched alongside Serato DJ 5.0, the latest version of the company’s desktop program.
The mobile app carries over most of the desktop toolkit: Serato Stems, effects, cue points, key sync, recording, and DVS support for setups that use turntables and control vinyl. It connects to more than 120 controllers, mixers, and turntables from brands including Pioneer DJ, Rane, Numark, Roland, AlphaTheta, and Hercules. A new feature called iOS Transfer moves tracks, crates, and metadata from a laptop library to a phone or tablet. DJs can also stream directly from Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, SoundCloud, and Beatport.
The app comes in free and paid versions. Recording, DVS, Stems FX, advanced pad modes, and most of the 59 effects slots are limited to the paid tier. Anyone with an active Serato DJ Suite subscription or license gets the paid version at no extra cost.
