You'd be hard-pressed to name a funnier band than Chanpan. When The FADER ran into the alt-pop trio at Governor's Ball this summer, Grace Dumdaw, Matthew Tran, and Lance Tran (they're twins) were positively bouncing off each other. That reflects their easy chemistry, but don't let the wide smiles and danceable grooves fool you. Underneath it all Chanpan's songs can be eerily serious, hinging on feelings of abjection, uncertainty, and even fear.
Case in point: their new single "speculations," which the band says, "weighs our self-doubts from this newfound music career while ultimately choosing to move forward fearlessly." The new single was produced by Oscar Scheller, who's been on a nonstop run of new music in 2026, working with Kelela, Lily Allen, PinkPantheress, and Cannelle, among others. "speculations" follows the summer release of the band's EP autogratis in June and an accompanying remix project in August. The new single arrives alongside the announcement of a new batch of tour dates in Asia and Europe as the band winds down their domestic shows. You can see a full list of those shows below.
