Over the past four years Syd and her wife have fostered over two dozen dogs — "about 24 or 25" to be exact, she told The FADER in her October 2026 cover story. They ended up keeping two of them, number 10 and number 14.
When we heard that singer and The Internet frontwoman had a passion for dogs, we knew we had to get her in the presence of some four-legged friends, so we called up Los Angeles' local shelter Best Friends Pet Adoption Center for a visit. Above, watch as Syd meets the facility's many pups and extolls the virtues of fostering: "When people tell me that they are looking to adopt a dog, but they're not sure what they want, I always suggest that they foster. Not every dog is going to be the right fit," she says.
