We celebrated 20 years of Amy Winehouse and Back To Black

It’s been 20 years since Amy Winehouse released her iconic second studio album Back to Black, featuring hits like “You Know I’m No Good” and “Love is a Losing Game.” Not too long after that release, Winehouse featured in The FADER’s long-running GEN F series, as part of Issue #44 in March 2007.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Back to Black, The FADER teamed up with Universal Music Enterprises, Non, Estrella Galicia, and Brother to put on a special, one-night-only photo exhibition featuring unpublished outtakes from Winehouse’s GEN F shoot by photographer Liz Johnson Artur.
That interview was conducted by none other than Nick Barat, who you might know as Nick Catchdubs, co-founder of Fool’s Gold Records. After our own Hajin Yoo and DJ Miss Ma’am took the decks, Nick spun a sick set to close out the night. Back in the day, he also spearheaded The FADER’s jump to digital — thanks Nick!
