Kontry Music

Our man Akon is doing it so serial this year, we could’ve written this entire thing in links, but it’s the one about his Stefani collab that we really want to talk about. That snippet is now a song, “The Sweet Escape,” and we’ll go ahead and say it’s the best one on Gwen’s new album. Not that we ever doubted Kon, but we would have forgiven dude had he slept through this assignment. Instead, he went all Fred Zarr on us and made an ’80s mall-pop masterpiece. Not to mention the “yee-hoo”/”whee-hoo” shit he throws on the chorus. Seriously, don’t be mad when we roll deep on your galleria with our arms laced in Swatch to this.
