DC to LDN: Wale’s Lily Allen Remix
- story THE FADER
While in NYC to perform at the FADER 44 release party with fellow DC resident Tabi Bonney, Murrrland MC Wale linked up with our dude Mark Ronson to talk about working on some music together. Turns out Ronson had a remix of Lily Allen’s breakup hit “Smile” percolating in his studio, and was looking for someone to drop a verse or two. Fast forward a couple weeks, and here you have “Smile (Mark Ronson DC remix),” where Wale gets his War of the Roses on over the throwback boom-bappery. Ladies and germs: your spring mixtape kick-off track has arrived! Download here (right-click and save-as).
