Every week a different FADER staff member will pick a clothing item or accessory that he or she has lately been spending a lot of time with—or would like to—and write a little love letter to it. We would’ve done a column on who we’re dating but that seemed a little bit much. This week Felipe Delerme writes about the Urbanears Plattan Headphones.

At the risk of deflating some of your more fantastic presumptions about the FADER editorial office, we listen to a great majority of the music that passes our ears through headphones. You see, we all work in kind of a close proximity and sure, it'd be nice to be able to throw that new Shawty Redd in the box and and start knocking things off shelves slamdancing with reckless abandon, but Rosemary is so widdle and also there is work to be done. But a good pair of headphones go a long way in an office like this and I had a pair not long ago. They were the kind that tucked into your ears and, from what I was made to believe, would lead to my eventual deafening. After a couple of months in my possession though, in a not so extraordinary bout of negligence, I rolled over them with the bottom of my desk chair. I was relegated to using the community pair, which had left much to be desired in terms of sound quality. These Urbanears Plattan Headphones smash both of the aforementioned to smithereens by way of sleek and sexy design and most importantly, sound that makes me feel like I'm right back in the club (without threatening my hearing). This is exciting for someone like myself who probably didn't want to leave the club in the first place. The pair I own are also, to borrow a phrase from Yo Gotti, "cocaine white," which is perfect if you're trying to live biblicaly or stunt on your co-workers. Two principles I try and adhere to daily.
