In 2022, Dugg was sentenced to six months in prison after violating the terms of his bond in a 2019 illegal weapons possession charge. He was arrested last summer for failing to turn himself in to a West Virginia prison camp and faced up to five years in prison for the offense.

As Complex points out, Dugg shared and deleted a statement in May protesting conditions at the United States Penitentiary in Atlanta, Georgia. Yo Gotti subsequently made an offer of $2 million to any attorney who could help secure Dugg’s release.

Dugg’s most recent album, a collaboration with EST Gee called Last Ones Left, dropped in April 2022. Upon his release from prison, Complex reports that Dugg headed straight back into the studio.
