Cubic Zirconia, “Josephine” Minimix MP3

January 29, 2010

Cubic Zirconia have been grinding the past few months on their album, recording in Los Angeles for extended periods of time at some crazy spa studio where they presumably get no sleep, wile out and write crazy off-kilter electronic anthems. The first single from those sessions is the slinky "Josephine," which features some of singer Tiombe Lockhart's cheeky lyrics (When she hop on, hesitate/ When I hop on, water break) over a tense oscillating synth and sproingy, taut sub-bass. It drops Tuesday, February 2 with hot remixes by DJ Sega, Greenmoney, Waajeed and Egyptrixx, so they're offering this little minimix sampler to get a taste. But if you want to actually live it and you're in the general New York area, they're giving away two tickets to the "Josephine" release show this Saturday at Music Hall of Williamsburg with rapper Cage and sensual house coverband Telephoned. To enter, email cubiczirconiaband@gmail.com with the tale of your best drug experience. If you have no drug experience, check the flyer after the jump and just pay for a ticket. Also, big ups to CZ's Nick Hook, newest addition to Roll Deep.
