Premiere: The Hundred in the Hands, “Dressed in Dresden (Various Production Remix)” MP3

March 03, 2010

If you go to new Warp signees The Hundred in the Hands' MySpace page, you can hear the original version of their song "Dressed in Dresden," which is, well, super fucking different than the Various Production remix. The Various Production remix, for one, doesn't sound like new wave. And the original doesn't resemble anything near being moody, a feeling the remix most certainly embodies, There are pluses and minuses, depending on your mood. A duo from New York, are pretty coo-heavy, in a happy, French way. But in the remix they turn heavy against the some drum and bassy drums. Though Various Production are responsible for an entire album of similar downtempo remixes, they're also the creators completely bonkers "Tricyle," , and this remix is a good meeting point, far from being too Buddha Bar, but not transformative enough to lose its value as a strong introduction.
