We heard Twin Sister on a roof the other night. Some dude was under a blanket and the girls were wrapped up. The dude shared the blanket, though, don't get the wrong idea that he's a hogger. The roof owner borrowed a tiny speaker from his roommate and bumped this quick album from the iPhone. It sounds good at night, in the dark. Sounds good on headphones, too. Don't know how it sounds live yet because we went down from the roof to the living room to eat some Girl Scout Cookies while Twin Sister played a couple miles north. Sorry we missed it, but they were a good soundtrack nonetheless. Color Your Life, which they are briefly making available for free on MP3—and for money in perpetuity on CD and vinyl—is a very varied release, sweeping through the more ambient side of no wave, the skittering side of post-punk, the moody side of guitar pop. Word on the street is they're a buzz band. That's cool! This album is nice.
