Stream: Wiley f. J2K & Jodie Connor, “Electric Boogaloo”

Ripped from DJ Target's Radio 1xtra show, Wiley's newest single is yet another interesting stopgap in his career as of late. He's mostly veered from the super raw spitting that made him famous, instead wobbling between slightly lighter lyrics on surefire hooks, and extremely mainstream radio-oriented tracks that we couldn't really get down with, and "toadally" wild (heh) freestyles we never expected. "Electric Boogaloo" certainly has a pop appeal, but nimble, high energy beats suit him, and he's emphasizing his consonants nastily, his snarl pointed towards the dancefloor. Not sure exactly where he's going (maybe he just wants to play music that won't get him kicked out of clubs?), but no matter what his choices, he continues to be a formidable talent.
