Here is one minute of audio of Shakira covering The XX‘s “Islands” as a new song called “Explore.” It’s a bit quicker than the original, but generally faithful. If Hot Chip can cover her “Shewolf,” seems no reason she can’t cover The XX. No beef with Shakira at The FADER.

This song suits being sung by Shakira. The original is ovvo the best but this is pretty good. The xx have some pretty decent melodies but sometimes they got lost in wishy washyness. This benefits from Shakira’s delivery.
